Over the past unit we were introduced to quite a few new and familiar techniques to utilize as we attempt to look at a particular item, place, or ideology in a historical manner. If I were to return to unit 3 for some insights I would most likely head over to the predatory reading. Right off the bat the article gives 10 different strategies to be more conscious of while examining a particular topic. For me, the ones that stuck out the most would be the ability to think pragmatically and the need for evidence. I feel that if you lose the ability to pragmatically you’ve now lost the ability to identify the most important driving factor in the written work you are taking a look at. Evidence, however, is something that should provided when you are attempting to persuade the reader. Without evidence the argument and writer’s credibility fall flat on their face. I would assume that both of these techniques can be utilized when searching for the larger picture or context of a subject.

While reading Lovells’ “The Archive That Never Was I had a difficult time identifying possible incoherence. Although I wasn’t able to find anything noteworthy, it is a concept I would like to become more conscious of when faced with difficulties interpreting readings.

In regard to hypothesis, I think it is fine way for the class to share their thoughts and ideas with one another. My suggestion would come from my own weakness as a student in this class. When you wait to submit your work until the later half of the week you run the risk of having minimal engagement between your classmates as you don’t give anyone a fair amount of time to offer feedback to your work and vice versa.
